Telemarketing involves a lot of customer interaction. The point of a telemarketer is to not only promote a product, but pitch very convincing reasons as to why a person should by the particular product. Even when customers get angry, it is the job of the telemarketer to calm the situation down and turn it into a positive selling experience.
Generally, telemarketers must have at least a high school diploma. Some companies may only require that telemarketing skills are shown in order to be hired for the position. A number of these skills include having good verbal communication, knowing the basic routine of selling, having a positive attitude, being able to problem solve quickly, and staying organized. With working with so many customers it is equally important to know how to manage time wisely and schedule accurately.
