In the restaurant business, there are positions for all types of operations within the store. The store manager oversees the day to day operations of all employees. Chefs properly prepare the food and keep in mind health and safety guidelines. A host or hostess will greet customers and take them to their table. A waiter or waitress will take customer orders and bring the food to their table.
The educational requirements for positions in the restaurant business range from just a high school diploma, all the way to a master’s degree. With having so many different positions, there is a long list of skills needed. Some of those skills are organization, time management, good customer service skills, good memory, quick problem solving, proper telephone etiquette, and being able to work in a fast paced environment.
