Truck drivers are responsible for actually transporting goods to preset destinations. This can be in the field of technology, retail, or even sales. Any items that need to be delivered are taken care of by the truck driver. Drivers will also maintain reports, sometimes electronically, of their routes and how much time they spend during each delivery.
There are no set educational requirements for being a truck driver, but a CDL license is absolutely necessary. A person must also be at least 21 years of age because of safety regulations. Since there is a physical that must be taken every two years, being able to lift heavy loads, having good vision, and stamina are very important. Truck drivers must keep to schedules and record their routes so other skills in organizing, scheduling, good written communication, and time management are very important.
