About Supervisor Careers

A supervisor’s main responsibility is to oversee the different activities that are performed by employees from day to day. They look to see how operations are running and if there is any room for improvement within those operations. Supervisors also have to be aware of different goals that are set for each day or week and encourage employees to help reach those goals. Attending company meetings for “work improvements” is also the job of a supervisor.

What to Expect When Interviewing

The general educational requirements for being a supervisor fall into a couple of categories. Either a bachelor’s degree is required or simply a high school diploma, but with plenty of experience in a leadership role. Since supervisors oversee a lot of daily operations, they need to have skills in customer service, leadership, problem solving, organizational skills, scheduling, able to work under pressure, an open schedule and be approachable.
