Package handlers will sort out packages that are to be delivered, according to address and routes. They will ensure that each package is labeled correctly and packaged according to the guidelines. Some package handlers will operate vehicles for delivery. During the busy seasons, they will ride along with vehicle operators and simply take care of the task of delivering the package to the appropriate residence.
Package handlers must at least have a high school diploma, be at least 18 years old and for some companies, pass a physical. Package handlers can work long hours so having good stamina and being able to stay alert through those long hours is important. Other skills that are going to be needed for this job is an ability to follow instructions in detail, organization, having an open schedule, being able to lift large packages, and multitasking.
