Old Navy was founded in 1994, when its parent company Gap Inc., renamed Gap Warehouse to Old Navy. This division helped to create a new image and brand, which could appeal to a customer base outside of the upscale brand that Gap had already created. With large stores and early expansion to Canada, Old Navy quickly became a huge clothing retailer nationwide.
