About Mortgage Careers

In the business of mortgage there are different sub-jobs. A loan officer is the one that is in charge of helping customers obtain a mortgage. Mortgage processors are in charge of getting the documentation together and verifying that same documentation from the loan officer. They are also responsible for sending the application in. Mortgage underwriters take the application and decide whether or not to approve it. An escrow officer handles transactions between lenders and consumers.
