Insurance agents are involved in a number of tasks that involve working with policyholders on their insurance coverage. Other important duties of an insurance agent are to work on policies that have already been established and discuss payment options with policyholders. No matter the type of insurance, the important part of this job is to ensure that all guidelines of each policy are being fulfilled.
Most insurance positions will require at least a bachelor’s degree. Since there will be a lot of interactions between policyholders, having the ability to work with customers and problem solve are necessary. Having organization is a key trait that is needed when handling numerous accounts. It is required to be able to multitask, learn new software quickly, make professional presentations, be technologically savvy, and evaluate different accounts for the level of risk that they may present.
