About Human Resources Careers

Human resource managers have responsibilities in researching possible candidates for hiring, deciding if they have the right qualifications for the position needed, and offering the position if they feel the candidate is the right choice. Other responsibilities will include discussing pay rates, informing employees of job rules, bookwork, and making schedules, if necessary.

What to Expect When Interviewing

With almost all positions in human resources having to start as entry-level, a minimum of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is required. There are some positions that will also take a certificate. Being a people person is absolutely necessary for this job because of working with so many different people. A human resource manager must have skills in accounting, time management, organization, scheduling, and the ability to explain rules and regulations in detail.
