Founded in 1979, AutoZone originally started under the name Auto Shack and changed to AutoZone to settle a lawsuit with the trademarked “Radio Shack” name. AutoZone also holds naming rights to a stadium and the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Within 2 years of its foundation, AutoZone had grown to 73 stores. By 1984, they had created the first quality control program for its parts and grown to 194 stores. In August 2012, AutoZone had opened their 5,000th store and is now present in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Brazil.
As most of AutoZone’s position are clerk and stocking within brick-and-mortar locations, applications and interviews are likely similar to the other generic interviews you’ve experienced before. For corporate positions, you may expect telephone, Skype and in-person interviews before expecting an offer. For the smaller, in-restaurant positions, you can expect a short, in-person interview, typical application process and an offer.
